چکیده

River flow alterations, caused by climate variability/change and intense anthropogenic uses (e.g., regulation dams) are considered among the main global challenges of which hydrologists should be dealing with. For purpose this study, environmental potential hydrological alterations made for extended Drin river basin, with limited historical information available. To overcome limitation assessment is using simulated streamflow data from a watershed model. Descriptive statistics applied to values indicate that median monthly flows no consistently greater than those 0–37.4 m3/s in all subbasins. Moreover, an investigation impact on regime simulations Results hydrologic alteration between nonregulated regulated conditions. More specifically, Global Circulation Models Regional Climate combinations, both unregulated conditions, minimum discharge had statistically significant decreasing trends, except one combination (RCP 4.5–RCA4/ECEARTH) Finally, results preliminary analysis could enhance necessary conversations relevant stakeholders discuss decide sustainable water resources management issues development Basin Management Plan future.

Flow Regime Alterations under Changing Climate in Two River Basins: Implications for Freshwater Ecosystems

We examined impacts of future climate scenarios on flow regimes and how predicted changes might affect river ecosystems. We examined two case studies: Cle Elum River, Washington, and Chattahoochee–Apalachicola River Basin, Georgia and Florida. These rivers had available downscaled global circulation model (GCM) data and allowed us to analyse the effects of future climate scenarios on rivers wit...

Climate variability and Ross River virus transmission.

OBJECTIVES (1) To examine the feasibility to link climate data with monthly incidence of Ross River virus (RRv). (2) To assess the impact of climate variability on the RRv transmission. DESIGN An ecological time series analysis was performed on the data collected between 1985 to 1996 in Queensland, Australia. METHODS Information on the notified RRv cases was obtained from the Queensland Dep...

Bioaccumulation and Histopathological Alterations in Liver Caused by Endosulfan Toxicity in Oreochromis Niloticus

Objective: The toxic effects of sublethal concentrations of endosulfan on Oreochromis niloticus was examined using bioaccumulation and histopathology studies of the liver as toxicological endpoint.  Methods: The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development #407 recommended static renewal bioassay was employed during the test .The test fish were exposed to sub-lethal concentrat...

Iran's Future Climate Conditions and Hazard in Climate Research

Global temperatures have increased in the past 100 years by an average of 0.74°C (IPCC, 2013), with minimum temperatures increasing faster than maximum temperatures and winter temperatures increasing faster than summer temperatures (IPCC, 2013). Total annual rainfall tends to increase at the higher latitudes and near the equator, while rainfall in the sub-tropics is likely to decline and become...

River flow regimes in a changing climate

A river flow regime describes an average seasonal behaviour of flow and reflects the climatic and physiographic conditions in a basin. Differences in the regularity (stability) of the seasonal patterns reflect different dimensionality of the flow regimes, which can change subject to changes in climate conditions. The empirical orthogonal functions (EOF) approach can be used to describe the intr...
